We care for more than 1000 items of uniform relating to the regular army, militia and volunteer forces. On this page you can find ten of our most important items spanning 1780-1899. Each has been chosen because it is rare or unusual, and together they demonstrate developments in British Infantry uniform over time. Seven of these uniforms were worn by men who served with the 19th Regiment (Green Howards). Three were worn by men who served with the various militia forces raised in Yorkshire in the 19th century.
