We’re really excited to be part of this year’s Ripon Festival of Remembrance on 6th November 2024!
Angela Campbell, the Service Children’s Champion for North Yorkshire, has invited us to take part in the annual service at Ripon Cathedral. As part of the preparation for the event, The Green Howards Museum will be hosting 22 North Yorkshire schools at the museum.
In a series of research and discovery workshops, both primary and secondary students will visit the museum to learn about Green Howards who served in World Wars I and II. Each of the participating schools will ‘adopt’ a soldier whose framed image will feature at the Festival of Remembrance in a service to commemorate their lives, service and sacrifice.
We’re both honoured and thrilled to be part of this wonderful project to highlight the importance of remembering our nation’s war heroes.
