Roll of Honour

We are pleased to announce the regiment’s First World War roll of honour is now searchable on the Yorkshire Regiment Remembrance website.

The Roll of Honour records the names of almost 7,500 soldiers. It is a great source of information for anyone researching a Yorkshire Regiment soldier who died during the First World War.

The Roll of Honour does not list every Yorkshire Regiment soldier who was killed during the First World War.

There are almost 9,300 men recorded on the Yorkshire Regiment Remembrance website. The difference in numbers comes about for several reasons; the Roll of Honour doesn’t include men of the 16th Battalion, many men who were buried on home soil, and men who transferred from the Yorkshire Regiment to another regiment.

We are very grateful to Edward Nicholl, who administers the Yorkshire Regiment Remembrance website, for adding this information to this fabulous resource, which you can access here.
