Festivi-teas

We’re offering festive refreshments in one of our most spectacular galleries.

The Normanby Room will provide a cosy setting for afternoon tea in November and December.

Guests will pass through the Medal Room with its jaw-dropping array of more than 4000 awards before stepping into the room; dressed for the season and filled with art and the furniture and glittering silverware of the Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess, to take afternoon tea in a unique setting.

The afternoon teas will be available on Fridays and Saturdays from 18 November up to, and including Saturday 17 December. Guests can enter further into the Christmas spirit with the offer of additional sparkle; with a glass of prosecco, or extra spice – with a warming glass of mulled wine.

“It’s an impressive room, but with an intimate feel, particularly on a winter’s afternoon as the light outside is fading,” explains Museum Director, Lynda Powell. “We think it’s perfect as a venue for a pre-Christmas treat in a really special setting – you might even be lucky enough to sit on our Mousey Thompson King and Queen chairs!”
