Getting ready …

It’s time to roll up our sleeves and employ a little elbow grease as we get the museum ready for re-opening in February, so our featured objects this month are absolutely vital!

We’re cleaning all our fixtures and fittings and double checking for dust and smudges.  All of our Normanby Room silver collection has been removed from the cases, meticulously cleaned and polished and returned to create a gleaming display.  We’re keeping busy with family history research; helping the BBC Inside Out team on a case of unknown identity, and planning our 2017 talks and events and special exhibitions; the first of which – Tommy Bodkins will launch the new season.

Dusting and polishing are the order of the day, but don’t just take our word for it …

We’ll be welcoming visitors again from Monday 1 February.  Why not plan your visit now.
