Can you help to identify an unknown soldier?

Nigel Hodgson recently got in touch with us to help with his quest to get the Commonwealth War Graves Commission to accept that the grave of an unknown casualty in Anzio Beachhead War Cemetery is actually that of his grandfather, Fusilier Glyn Edwards who was killed in action on 28th February 1944.  Two Green Howards who fell in the same action are also listed as missing so, the hope is that pinpointing where they fell will rule them out as lying in the grave in question.

This is just one of the things that our archive can help do and why your support through admissions, retail and donations is so important, without it we simply cannot secure and expand the archive so we can help people like Nigel. Obviously, if anyone can help, get in touch. We’ll keep you posted on progress.

Can You Help Identify An Unknown Soldier?

We will remember them.
