This is the first stop on this web site for keeping in touch with old comrades
or finding members of the Regiment who served in the past.
Here you will find a page which provides extracts from "The
Green Howard". News items which provide information on personel belonging
to the Green Howards may be found here. Although we would always recommend that
you BUY a copy of the 'The Green Howard', you may find something on this page
to help you.
One of the most popular pages on this web site, - and one which you are sure
to return to(!), is the Guest Book.
Here, you can leave a message for everyone to see, or see what other people
have to say. Many old comrades have been put in touch through this page.
There is a page which lists Obituaries of past
or present members of the regiment. Obituaries which are published in
"The Green Howards' Gazette" or in national newspapers will be shown here.
However, if you would like to draw our attention to obituaries published either
privately or in local newspapers, please contact us.
Other Green Howards' Sites
Some of the past members of the Regiment have set up some invaluable sites for
those who are looking for old comrades, wanting to reminisce about old times,
exchange photos, or exchange information.
Ray Gascoyne (e-mail
: <xixray@ex-greenhowards.com> has put together a web site
which includes many photographs from his days in the Green Howards between
1958 and 1964. The photographs include many of fellow serving Green
Howard soldiers. Are you one of them? |
Sites for Armed Forces Lost Friends
And finally, you may find it useful to visit a couple some sites which are dedicated
to finding old Armed Forces friends. These sites are aimed at establishing
contacts with old comrades from other regiments and other services. But
if you find a past member of the Green Howards by using either site, please
draw their attention to THIS site!!!
| Forces Re-United | This website is run by Ex-Forces Personnel,
for Forces and Ex-Forces Personnel who have either left or are still currently
serving in the Armed Forces wherever they are in the world, who wish to
find old friends or colleagues from the past. |
| Ian Martin's site | A "Find Your Friends"
site which includes armed forces personnel, as well as the general population. |
| Find an Old Friend | This site, run by Robin Brown,
makes the interesting claim "Just click here & I will find
your friend within the next 24 hrs !". Well, it's always
worth a try! - especially as Robin Brown states the he doesn't make any
charges (apart from expenses), and there are no strings attached. So,
why not give it a try! |
